You're Never Too Old...
Meet the newest member of our sanctuary family: ‘Stripe’! Stripe is a 12 year old goat and she lost her home when her family had to sell their ranch. They desperately needed to find Stripe a new home fast. When she arrived she had some health issues, including a respiratory infection. She was very sweet, but too thin and very timid. She seemed confused by her new surroundings and aware that she was no longer at the only home she had ever known. We are working hard with the vet to improve her health and she will soon join our little herd of misfit goats at the barn. We know she will make lots of friends! In the meantime, she is bunking with one of our roosters ‘Colonel Mustard’ and he is keeping her company.
Stripe’s story highlights one of the things we focus on here at Martha’s Farm Animal Sanctuary. We realize that even though an animal might be well loved by their family, sometimes people’s circumstances change, and they are forced to find their farm animals a new home. Well, rehoming a farm animal is no easy task! It’s very difficult to find a good home for a goat, let alone a very old one, so options for these animals are extremely limited.
We are happy to provide Stripe with her forever home, a safe haven where she can relax in the warm sunshine and be cared for in her golden years.
